During the summer of 2006, I returned to this pond several times to draw, sketch and paint. This painting was done late in the summer. The pond is located just off Balaine Road as you drop down into the Gold Stream Valley from Farmer’s Loop Road. There is a gravel parking lot with a dirt road down to the pond. The pond is used by the road maintenance crew to fill the water trucks. It is also a popular blueberry picking area.

During the summer of 2006, I returned to this pond several times to draw, sketch and paint. This painting was done early in the summer. Each day that I returned from painting my husband say “I don’t see any ducks on that pond yet.” Hence, the title.
