Original Paintings by Anne Aleshire

Inspiration:

I learned to appreciate the natural world around me by spending plenty of time outdoors while growing up on a farm in Michigan.  The only way to experience and capture the uniqueness of a place is by viewing it at different times of the day and seasons.  I try to capture that uniqueness in my paintings.  I enjoy painting el plein air.  My favorite season is fall with its many colors, intense light and crisp air.  I work mostly with oils but other painting mediums interest me as each have their own characteristic and challenges. My favorite quote is by Roger W. Curtis are, “Painting … is so intimately connected with the way people feel, much of it is personal opinion – everything depends on where you stand.”
